Moissac-Bellevue

A typical vilage of Provence

Moissac BellevueBuilt at an altitude of 579 meters on a promontory, Moissac Bellevue offers a magnificent view on the hills of Defend and the valley bordering the huge wooden Pelenq. Located not far from Aups or Gorges du Verdon is a goal of parkway not to be missed when you visit the region.

The narrow streets and steep Moissac-Bellevue, pavements with their elders, you will find many buildings with architectural details remarkable. Among those, one should mention the clock tower (XIX) and its bell, the bell tower of the church of Notre Dame de la Roche, a superb dovecote (private), a former rectory converted into a holiday home, or vaulted passages...

The whole village is a very elegant, very typical of Provence and restored with great care. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful villages in the Haut Var.

A chapel, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the twelfth century, but built just outside the village, has a remarkable bell-wall double arcade.
