The port of the Haut Var

BauduenThe village of Bauduen, backed by a steep hill, is directly landed on the shores of Lake St. Croix.

Tourism is the main resource of this village before oriented agriculture. Located in the heart of the Verdon Regional Park, Bauduen enjoys countryside offering all walks exceptional nature lovers. And the nearby lake offers all the pleasures of sailing.

Village Provencal typical of medieval times, Bauduen has retained over the centuries its disposal in an arc around a rock. The picturesque alleys, lined with houses, some of which maintain mullioned windows, you will reveal many testimonies of its long history. You will discover and the church of St Peter and St Paul, Romanesque construction, or walls and a tower everbearers the fifteenth century. But also a former oil mill, whose walls are part of the old castle in the village.

Remarkable also a sundial of the nineteenth century, proudly bearing the motto of Louis XIV: "NEC PLURIBUS IMPAR" (above all (like the sun).

And finally, do not miss, not far from the village, the Astronomical Observatory of Bauduen!
