A typical village

Artignosc en ProvenceArtignosc, 515 m above sea level, located not far from the Gorges du Verdon and a water reservoir created by a dam EDF, receives more and more tourists attracted by the proposed water sports, but also by the superb and very well protected in this region. The efforts of the town in terms of facilities and renovation have helped to brighten dramatically this village.

The main street, most recently redone, is lined with old houses in a remarkable state of preservation. The old castle Thoron (fourteenth and twelfth centuries) is now occupied by the Hotel de ville. The streets of this village built on the side of hills, full of charm, are certain to be careful rehabilitation and intelligent. Behind the city hall, you will also have access to the old bread oven that gives rise to an annual "Festival of bread", the Sunday of Pentecost, in June.

On the outskirts of Artignosc, you can not resist the invitation to walk or hiking in the hills. The GR99 which crosses the village will surely guide you. For lovers of shorter walks, do not miss the "Chemin de l'Eau." The tour, comprising two parties, for a total of 9km route, was conducted by the association "Land and People of Verdon, supported by the Regional Natural Park of Verdon.
