Signs of a particularly rich heritage, since 1946 a large part of the old centre of Annot is classified or included in the inventory of historical monuments.
Annot is built on a mound of sandstone which is never very far from the surface, and we see a magnificent outcrop on a plot of the old city. The sandstone is also present in the walls of houses, but also in a dramatic cliff overlooking the village.
The sandstone Annot is known to geologists, but also tourists, since a marked trail will discover this exceptional natural heritage but also the vast diversity of flora associated with it. In addition, some blocks are isolated huge joy of climbers who have nearly 150 channels equipped and one of the few opportunities to climb on the sandstone.
The site of Colle Basse, 8 kilometres from the village, offers an exceptional natural area and a circular panorama on the summits Border Mercantour and the mountains of Provence. On plateaus and ridges perched rounded, a network of large forest tracks was used to splendid journey on foot, on horseback or mountain bike.
